The Kitchen is the Heart of the Home

I just love this design concept. Three designers He, Kui and Dong from China won the Ambient category of the Kitchen is the Heart of the Home Contest on designboom. This amazing concept is basically a rotating kitchen island with all of the basic kitchen essentials. It just makes so much sense. The sink, the stove, the dishwasher, a small fridge, maybe a wine cooler, and storage. Everything all rolled up into one place. I love it. Found on designboom

Teenage Furniture Design Contest

Design contests can produce some pretty interesting results. Brazilian designer Roberta Rimme created an all in one bedroom set. The bed, bookshelf, media holder, television and desk are all rolled into one piece of furniture. It seems to be a big hit with the younger generation.
